Site Technical Engineer (Construction)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Review and coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to identify discrepancies, clashes, and missing information.
• Prepare, review, and track shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, specialist designers, and site teams to resolve technical issues.
• Monitor engineering deliverables and approvals against project schedules.
• Maintain engineering registers, submission logs, and weekly progress reports.
• Follow up on consultant comments, revisions, and resubmissions until final approval.
• Identify technical delays, procurement constraints, and approval issues, escalating them when required.
• Support site teams with technical clarifications and coordinate project handover documentation.
• Ensure submissions comply with project specifications, approved designs, and applicable standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Site Technical Engineer or Technical Office Engineer with a main contractor in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of construction drawings, shop drawings, RFIs, material submittals, and consultant approval procedures.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and engineering documentation systems.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and follow up with stakeholders.
• Good command of English.

Preferred qualifications

• High-rise residential or commercial building project experience is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of BIM coordination is an advantage.
