Site Civil Engineer

About This Role

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Civil Engineer will supervise and manage all civil construction activities across the assigned project packages, encompassing structural concrete works, foundations, piling (where applicable), underground drainage, road works, cable trench civil works, and structural steel erection interfaces.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise all civil construction activities including earthworks, concrete foundations, structural slab construction, and drainage systems.
• Review and comment on civil submittals including shop drawings, method statements, and material approval requests for concrete, rebar, and formwork.
• Monitor concrete pours, rebar placement, and formwork activities to ensure compliance with approved mix designs and structural drawings.
• Coordinate with the structural steel and MEP teams for embedded anchor bolts, sleeves, and penetration planning.
• Verify that underground drainage, cable trenches, and duct banks are constructed per approved civil drawings.
• Monitor subgrade preparation, backfill compaction testing, and surfacing works.
• Review RFIs, technical deviations, and non-conformances related to civil scope and recommend resolution.
• Support pre-commissioning and system handover by ensuring all civil works are punch-listed and cleared.

QUALIFICATIONS & JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 10 years of civil construction experience in industrial, power generation, or heavy infrastructure projects.
• Valid UAE Residence Visa and Emirates ID – mandatory at time of application.
• Demonstrated experience with reinforced concrete, foundation systems, and structural works in industrial environments.
• Familiarity with BS 8110, ACI 318, or equivalent structural and concrete codes applicable to UAE projects.
• Experience working within EPCM or PMC project delivery frameworks on major industrial plants.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Experience with AutoCAD and site survey tools for setting-out and verification of as-built works.
• Knowledge of Dubai municipality requirements and Dubai Building Code.
• Proven ability to manage Executing Company civil subcontractors and coordinate multi-discipline interface issues.
• Strong documentation skills for RFI management, inspection records, and as-built mark-ups.
