About This Role
ROLE SUMMARY
The Mechanical, Piping & Equipment Installation Engineer is responsible for overseeing all mechanical installation activities across the assigned project packages, including static and rotating equipment, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, piping systems, and associated supports.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise mechanical equipment erection, alignment, and commissioning preparation activities on-site
- Oversee piping fabrication, spool erection, hydrotesting, and pre-commissioning activities per approved specifications and P&IDs
- Review pipe support designs, isometric drawings, and equipment layout drawings for constructability
- Coordinate with QA/QC team for NDT, pressure testing, and inspection hold points per approved ITPs
- Verify equipment installation against vendor drawings, data sheets, and technical requirements
- Monitor compliance of piping material with approved MAS documents (ASTM, API, EN standards)
- Participate in pre-installation inspections and material traceability checks at fabrication facilities where required
- Coordinate with QA/QC team on, punch list preparation, and resolution of NCRs
- Support engineering with field queries and technical deviation requests during construction
- Maintain up-to-date equipment erection records, pressure test packages, and punch lists
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical piping and equipment installation within power generation or heavy industrial construction
- Valid UAE Residence Visa and Emirates ID – mandatory at time of application
- Proven experience on gas turbine power stations, water treatment, or industrial process plant projects
- Familiarity with API 650, ASME B31, and related piping and pressure vessel codes
- Experience working under third-party inspection and EPCM quality regime
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong working knowledge of pipe stress, support design concepts, and constructability review
- Experience with rotating equipment alignment, grouting, and pre-commissioning activities
- Familiarity with UAE utility-sector technical standards is a strong advantage
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Navisworks, or equivalent tools for drawing review
