Role Summary

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all electrical construction and installation activities on the assigned project packages.

Scope includes HV/MV/LV switchgear, cable laying and termination, earthing and lightning protection, lighting systems, and electrical equipment installation.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all electrical installation activities on-site, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, schedules, and the client specifications..
  • Review and comment on electrical submittals including MAS, shop drawings, single-line diagrams, cable schedules, and method statements.
  • Monitor progress of HV/MV/LV cable pulling, termination, and testing activities.
  • Coordinate with the civil team for cable tray routing, trench excavation, and containment installation.
  • Witness and document electrical tests including insulation resistance, continuity, and high-pot tests per approved ITPs.
  • Verify switchgear, transformer, and UPS installation per vendor factory test reports and approved data sheets.
  • Support earthing and bonding system installation and testing verification activities.
  • Review and respond to RFIs and technical deviations related to electrical scope.
  • Maintain test dossiers, inspection records, and redline drawings for as-built documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of electrical construction experience on power plants or major industrial facilities.
  • Valid UAE Residence Visa and Emirates ID – mandatory at time of application.
  • Demonstrated experience in HV/MV power distribution systems, switchgear installation, and cable management.
  • Familiarity with IEC 60364, IEC 61439, BS 7671, and specific electrical standards.
  • Experience in EPCM or PMC project environments with multi-contractor interfaces.
  • achelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with SCADA/DCS interface requirements during construction and pre-commissioning.
  • Strong knowledge of protection relay coordination and grounding system design is an advantage.
  • Competence in reading single-line diagrams, cable schedules, protection schemes, and earthing layout drawings.
  • Good working knowledge of UAE connection requirements and technical standards.
