Role Summary

The MEP Construction Engineer will work under the EPCM framework to supervise, coordinate, and manage all HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction activities across the assigned project packages.

The role reports directly to the Site Manager and interfaces daily with the Executing Companies, ILF Consulting Engineers, and Client team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage all MEP construction activities on-site in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
  • Coordinate interface between mechanical, electrical, civil, and instrumentation disciplines to ensure integrated construction execution.
  • Review and comment on MEP submittals, material approval requests (MAS), method statements, and ITPs.
  • Participate in technical site meetings, coordination meetings, and progress reviews with Client and EPCM team.
  • Ensure compliance with the client project specifications, standards, and applicable UAE Authority requirements.
  • Verify that all MEP installations are carried out per approved Shop Drawings and endorsed method statements.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC team on inspection activities, punch list preparation, and resolution of NCRs.
  • Support commissioning readiness activities for MEP systems including pre-commissioning checksheets.
  • Maintain accurate daily site diaries, progress reports, and correspondence log.

Job Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on MEP construction experience in industrial/power generation projects.
  • Valid UAE Residence Visa and Emirates ID – mandatory at time of application.
  • Demonstrated experience on power station, utility, or heavy industrial construction projects.
  • Experience working within an EPCM / PMC project delivery framework
  • Familiarity with utility-client project standards and approval processes.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline
  • Experience with multi-discipline MEP coordination in live industrial environments.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and specifications
  • Knowledge of applicable standards: IEC, BS, ASHRAE, CIBSE, and local UAE codes.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills in English.
