Our client seeking a highly skilled and experienced

Shipping Operations Manager

to join our dynamic team in the United Arab Emirates.

This is a

permanent, onsite

position offering a significant opportunity to lead and optimize global shipping operations for crude and refined product movements within a fast-paced trading environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day vessel operations and voyage execution for all assigned crude and refined product cargo movements.
  • Coordinate all aspects of voyage planning, including vessel nominations, bunker procurement, and operational scheduling to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Ensure strict adherence to charter party agreements and provide comprehensive post-fixture operational support, including documentation and compliance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact and liaison with vessel owners, charterers, agents, terminals, and all other relevant third parties involved in shipping activities.
  • Monitor cargo operations, port activities, and marine logistics processes, proactively identifying and resolving any potential issues or delays.
  • Collaborate closely with Trading and Trade Operations teams to ensure seamless scheduling, nominations, and effective resolution of operational challenges.
  • Prepare, review, and manage all critical shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, cargo manifests, and voyage instructions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Track, analyze, and report on all voyage costs, including bunker usage, demurrage, detention, and freight exposure, providing insights for performance improvement.
  • Maintain accurate voyage tracking systems and provide timely, concise operational updates to internal stakeholders and customers.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of
  • 8 years
  • of progressive experience in shipping operations, chartering, or marine logistics, with a strong preference for experience within commodity trading or the energy sector.
  • A Bachelor's degree in

Business Administration

  • or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in
  • Logistics Management, Supply Chain, Warehouse Operations, Inventory Control, Transportation Management, Freight Forwarding, and Customs Compliance
  • .
  • Demonstrated experience in
  • Process Improvement, Team Leadership, Problem Solving, Negotiation, and Communication
  • .
  • Proficiency in

Data Analysis

and experience with

ERP Systems

and

WMS Software

  • .
  • Strong understanding of tanker operations, voyage execution, charter party terms, and marine logistics processes.
  • Experience working within crude oil, refined products, or wider commodity trading environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as

APICS CPIM, CSCP, or PMP

  • Proficiency in the English language is preferred.
