Service Technician - Workshop

Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out minor periodic service maintenance as per **MG guidelines and IEM SOPs**
• Repair or replace worn or faulty components as per job orders
• Perform **Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI)** on vehicles
• Use diagnostic scanning tools (VDS) to read and clear fault codes
• Assist diagnostic and repair technicians when required
• Maintain accurate and clear job write-ups, highlighting key observations (especially safety-related issues)
• Clock in/out of assigned jobs in line with workshop procedures
• Coordinate closely with the **Workshop Controller** and **Parts Advisor** to ensure timely job completion
• Maintain personal tools inventory and ensure proper care of company assets
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
• Follow all **health & safety regulations** and company policies
• Continuously upgrade technical skills through training programs
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by supervisors

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 **years of experience** in a similar role (automotive technician/workshop environment)
• **High Diploma in Mechanics** or relevant technical qualification
• **Brand Advanced Technician Certification** is required
• Familiarity with automotive diagnostic tools and systems
• Basic **computer literacy** (job cards, systems, reporting)
• Fluency in **English** required
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Dealership experience is mandatory
