Role overview

Technical service and maintenance

• Diagnose complex sonar faults and root causes using diagnostic software, test equipment, and maintenance documentation; recommend performance improvements.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and support equipment availability, operational readiness, and lifecycle management.
• Repair and test equipment, replace components, and recommission sonar systems; escalate complex issues requiring specialist engineering support.
• Support engineering plans, technical investigations, reliability assessments, and continuous improvement; work with engineering teams on recurring issues.

Documentation, inventory, and stakeholder support

• Maintain records of maintenance, defects, repairs, and technical interventions; prepare reports and updates for management and customer stakeholders.
• Keep documentation current and aligned with quality-management requirements.
• Track inventory and spare-parts consumption, identify critical spare needs, and support replenishment planning.
• Coordinate as a technical interface among operational personnel, engineering teams, and maintenance management; provide professional customer support.

Compliance and work setting

• Perform maintenance in accordance with company procedures, quality standards, safety regulations, and site-specific health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Promote safety and support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
• The position is based in Jeddah and may involve occasional travel or deployment.

Essential qualifications

• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of sonar systems, particularly towed-array or variable-depth sonar technologies.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and testing sonar equipment and associated subsystems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software, calibration tools, and electronic test equipment.
• Experience supporting complex defence, naval, maritime, or mission-critical systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, communication, and stakeholder-management abilities.

Desirable experience

• Previous experience supporting naval sonar operations in an operational or military environment.
• Knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and through-life support activities.
• Experience with multinational teams and customer-facing support environments; former military technical or naval engineering experience is advantageous.
