Senior Traffic Engineer

Traffic engineering and studies
- Develop and review traffic designs for landscaping, streetscape, public realm, parks, communities, commercial developments, and infrastructure.
- Prepare circulation, access, road geometry, junction, parking, pedestrian crossing, and service access plans.
- Assess traffic flow, turning movements, visibility, safety, pedestrian connectivity, accessibility, and emergency vehicle access.
- Coordinate traffic impact, circulation, parking, access, and road safety studies; analyze existing and projected conditions and recommend mitigation.
Authority coordination and project delivery
- Coordinate submissions and approvals with relevant UAE authorities, including RTA, Dubai Municipality, and Abu Dhabi DMT, as applicable to project jurisdiction.
- Prepare drawings, reports, calculations, and supporting documents; address authority comments and maintain submission and approval records.
- Coordinate designs with landscape, civil, infrastructure, architecture, urban design, irrigation, utilities, and project management teams.
- Review contractor submittals and conduct site inspections; resolve technical issues and support construction and handover.
Technical leadership and reporting
- Lead and mentor junior engineers; review drawings, reports, calculations, and deliverables for quality and accuracy.
- Monitor design schedules and authority timelines, and prepare technical reports, progress updates, risk assessments, and recommendations.
- Support tenders, technical proposals, quantity assessments, and cost optimization.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, Traffic Engineering, or a related discipline; a relevant master's degree is an advantage.
- 8–12 years of relevant professional experience, including UAE or GCC experience.
- Proven traffic design, road infrastructure, traffic study, or transportation planning experience; UAE authority approvals experience is required.
- Landscaping, public realm, streetscape, urban development, road improvement, or infrastructure project experience is desirable.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design packages and supporting projects through design and construction.
Technical qualifications
- Strong knowledge of traffic engineering, road geometry, junction design, parking, pedestrian safety, and traffic control systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Civil 3D where applicable.
- Traffic analysis or modelling software such as SIDRA, VISSIM, SYNCHRO, or equivalent is preferred.
- Familiarity with road safety audits, traffic impact assessments, parking assessments, and traffic management plans.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; strong report writing, analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Health, safety, and information security
- Employees must follow company HSE policies and applicable legal requirements, and keep up to date with policy changes.
- Comply with information security policies, protect accounts and sensitive information, complete required security awareness training, and report security incidents.
- Use authorized systems and purposes; do not disable operating system firewalls or antivirus software.
