Job purpose

Assist with project schedule development and lead schedule monitoring and control to support timely, cost-effective, quality project delivery.

Provide planning, forecasting, and risk analysis for decision-making and contractual compliance.

Mentor junior planning staff and help improve planning processes, tools, and methodologies.

Project planning and scheduling

  • Assist senior planners in baseline development.
  • Develop work breakdown structures, activity logic, calendars, and durations.
  • Prepare two- to four-week look-ahead schedules aligned with site execution.
  • Update project programs based on actual site progress.

Monitoring, analysis, and coordination

  • Collect progress data from site engineers, construction managers, and subcontractors.
  • Measure and update physical progress and critical-path activities.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports, progress dashboards, S-curves, and histograms.
  • Coordinate with construction, engineering, and procurement teams and support sequencing and construction methodology planning.
  • Identify schedule slippages and notify senior staff.

Programme control and communication

  • Maintain planning logs, schedule narratives, and progress backup documents; keep programs, reports, and site status consistent.
  • Archive planning submissions and approvals and follow contract requirements for program submissions.
  • Attend internal coordination meetings and support client or consultant meetings and progress discussions.
  • Provide planning inputs for meeting minutes when required.
  • Ensure planning deliverables meet contract conditions, consultant requirements, formats, and timelines.

Education and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • A master’s degree is preferred.
  • PMI-SP, PSP, or PMP certification is highly desirable.
  • Training in project controls, risk management, or contract administration is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Office Suite.
