Responsibilities
- Develop, write, edit, and maintain technical documentation for border-security programmes and related technology solutions.
- Produce system descriptions, user manuals, operating procedures, maintenance manuals, technical proposals, reports, concept documents, and training materials.
- Translate complex technical, operational, and engineering information into clear documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Work with engineers, solution architects, project managers, operations teams, and subject-matter experts to gather and validate content.
- Develop content for system designs, civil works, installation, and integration of complex security systems.
- Support tender responses, statements of work, technical submissions, project plans, and customer presentations when required.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, International Relations, Security Studies, Linguistics, or a related discipline.
- 7–10 years of experience as a Technical Writer, Documentation Specialist, Technical Communications Specialist, or similar role.
- Experience writing for complex systems, technology programmes, engineering environments, or security, defence, aviation, telecommunications, command-and-control, surveillance, or government projects.
- Native or near-native Spanish proficiency and ability to write formal, accurate technical documentation in Spanish.
- Ability to write clear, concise, and structured technical documentation.
- Proficiency with Confluence, Markdown, Git, or similar documentation platforms.
