Act as a key technologist in the DevOps and Automation team, driving practices at product and program level.
Engineer enterprise CI/CD and cloud automation solutions using infrastructure as code, containers, and configuration management.
Support solution planning, development, deployment, releases, hyper-care, and operations; apply site reliability principles and bridge development with operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead cloud adoption and migration discovery with architects and security teams and define DevOps and cloud engineering architectures.
- Automate change management, resiliency, monitoring, capacity planning, and emergency response for assigned products.
- Lead service reliability, scalability, and performance; improve product lifecycles and continuous deployment value flow.
- Review operational environments, reduce failures, troubleshoot infrastructure, expand monitoring, and manage technical operations.
- Coordinate with release, product development, and security teams on canary-style deployments, uninterrupted releases, and rollbacks.
- Automate processes, maintain deployment pipelines, and deliver technical design and production-ready code.
- Build and operate development, CI, and CD environments using cloud application design principles such as 12-factor apps.
- Advise on DevSecOps security solutions and maintenance across environment, service, infrastructure, and cybersecurity management.
- Apply site reliability principles to availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning.
Qualifications
- Degree or honours (12+3 or equivalent) in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience across OpenShift, Kubernetes, EKS, AKS, Linux, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD, GitOps, Helm, container security, and cloud technologies.
Knowledge and skills
- Hands-on Kubernetes and container-platform experience; deployment and management experience with OpenShift, Amazon EKS, and Microsoft AKS.
- Understanding of Kubernetes architecture, workloads, networking, storage, Services, Ingress, RBAC, ConfigMaps, Secrets, and namespaces.
- Experience with Docker/OCI containers, registries, Helm, and Kubernetes Operators.
- Terraform and infrastructure-as-code knowledge for automated platform provisioning.
- Ansible, Bash and/or Python scripting for configuration and operational automation.
- Hands-on CI/CD and GitOps experience; named tools include Git, GitLab, and Jenkins.
