The role focuses on cloud development and technical delivery for HPE's hybrid cloud and GreenLake platform portfolio.
The engineer designs, develops, and supports cloud-based solutions across multiple systems, platforms, and applications.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of complex products and platforms, including solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration.
- Review designs and test plans, and develop code that meets cloud design and development standards.
- Provide feedback to improve product quality and mitigate risks.
- Represent the engineering team in technical forums and mentor less-experienced colleagues.
- Drive innovation and integration of new technologies into software systems design.
- Solve complex application, system administration, and network problems.
- Work with project managers and development partners on cloud delivery, deployment, operations, monitoring, and support.
- Contribute expertise to cloud service offerings across systems, platforms, and applications.
Education and experience
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
- Typically 7 to 10 years of experience.
Knowledge and skills
- Strong programming skills in Java, C++, or Golang.
- Expertise in file systems, networking, or distributed storage/compute systems.
- Knowledge of Linux/UNIX, Kubernetes, data structures, algorithms, multithreaded programming, operating system internals, and storage concepts.
- Understanding of microservice architecture and containerized, Kubernetes-managed environments.
- Ability to design and integrate software across platforms and use testing methods, test plans, debugging, and testing scripts or tools.
- Good problem-solving, communication, and independent-working skills; ability to present architectures and design proposals to senior management.
