Senior System Administrator supporting a client's server, virtualization, directory, storage, and backup infrastructure.
The role is a contract, yearly renewable position located in Sharjah.

Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain physical and virtual servers, operating systems, and core infrastructure services.
- Manage Active Directory, identities, group policies, and access requests using least-privilege principles.
- Plan and apply OS and platform patches in line with change-management and security requirements.
- Operate backup and recovery, conduct scheduled restore tests, and support disaster-recovery exercises.
- Monitor capacity, performance, and system health and act proactively to prevent incidents.
- Resolve infrastructure incidents and service requests within SLA; perform root-cause analysis for P1/P2 incidents.
- Maintain asset and configuration records, system documentation, and operational runbooks.
Must-have skills
- Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, PKI, and file services.
- Linux (RHEL/Oracle Linux) administration and hardening.
- VMware vSphere/vCenter or equivalent virtualization administration.
- Enterprise backup and recovery (Veeam, Commvault, or equivalent) and SAN/NAS storage.
- Patch and vulnerability management using WSUS/SCCM/Intune, Satellite, or equivalent.
- Microsoft 365/Exchange administration and email security.
- SCOM, Zabbix, PRTG, or equivalent monitoring tools; PowerShell/Bash scripting.
- Security hardening aligned with CIS benchmarks and UAE IA standards.
Nice-to-have skills
- Privileged access management tools.
- Hyper-converged infrastructure such as Nutanix.
- ITIL 4 Foundation; the posting also mentions a backup Bidder certification.
