Senior Structural Engineer

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate structural and infrastructure designs, calculations, models, drawings, shop drawings and technical reports for safety, durability and compliance.
• Assess structural analysis outputs using engineering software such as SAP2000, SAFE and ETABS.
• Review and approve mix designs for concrete, asphalt and other structural and infrastructure materials.
• Evaluate testing reports for concrete, reinforcement steel, structural steel, asphalt and backfill materials.
• Review geotechnical and soil investigation reports to support design validation and construction decisions.
• Respond to contractor queries, provide technical support and assess structural modifications for site conditions.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards and local and international codes and regulations.
• Lead coordination meetings with contractors and stakeholders to resolve engineering issues and review submissions.
• Coordinate and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams; manage stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution.

Qualifications and experience

• At least 10 years of experience in civil engineering projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes and standards, and design software.
• Digital 3D modeling experience, such as Autodesk/Plant 3D or AVEVA E3D.
• Project and commercial scope management, change control, vendor management, technical bid evaluation, and cost and risk awareness.
• Leadership, analytical thinking, decision-making under uncertainty, communication, stakeholder management and a mentoring mindset.
