Senior Structural Engineer

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Review structural and infrastructure designs, calculations, models, drawings, shop drawings, and technical reports for safety, durability, and compliance.
• Assess structural analysis outputs using SAP2000, SAFE, and ETABS.
• Review and approve concrete, asphalt, and other structural and infrastructure material mix designs.
• Evaluate testing reports for concrete, reinforcement steel, structural steel, asphalt, and backfill materials.
• Review geotechnical and soil investigation reports to support design and construction decisions.
• Respond to contractor queries and assess structural modifications for site conditions.
• Ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and applicable codes.
• Lead technical coordination meetings with contractors and stakeholders; resolve engineering issues and review submissions.
• Coordinate and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams and junior staff.
• Manage stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution and communicate practical technical solutions.

Qualifications and experience

• At least 10 years of experience in civil engineering projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes, standards, and design software.
• Experience with digital 3D modeling tools such as Autodesk Plant 3D or Aveva E3D.
• Project and commercial scope management, change control, vendor management, technical bid evaluation, and cost and risk awareness.
• Leadership, analytical thinking, decision-making under uncertainty, communication, stakeholder management, and mentoring abilities.
