Role overview
Lead structural design delivery for large-scale residential developments, ensuring alignment with project objectives, regulations, quality, budget, and schedule.
Oversee consultants and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams supporting residential communities.
Key responsibilities
- Lead structural design from concept through detailed design and construction support; manage and review external consultants and engineering partners.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code, international standards, and project requirements; coordinate with architecture, MEP, infrastructure, and other disciplines.
- Review and approve calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical submissions; identify and mitigate design risks.
- Track design progress against schedules and budgets; guide project teams and junior engineers.
- Support value engineering without compromising quality, safety, or performance; participate in design reviews, workshops, meetings, and presentations.
- Support construction with RFI responses, design clarifications, and site issue resolution.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
- At least 15 years of structural design and engineering experience, including five years in leadership or management overseeing large residential or mixed-use developments.
- Strong experience with reinforced concrete, steel structures, high-rise residential buildings, and residential communities.
- Professional Engineering registration or chartership, such as PE, CEng, ICE, or equivalent, preferred.
- Experience with major developers, engineering consultancies, or giga-projects is highly desirable.
Technical skills and preferred experience
- Structural design software may include ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, and similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of structural design codes and standards, multidisciplinary coordination, stakeholder and consultant management, and commercial awareness.
- Value engineering experience is required.
- Preferred experience includes residential master-planned communities, Saudi or GCC mega and giga-projects, developer-side design management, and authority or regulatory interfaces.
