Role overview
Deliver hands-on AI-first engineering to build, operate, and scale a production AI platform and intelligent automation capabilities.
Primary responsibilities
- Drive AI innovation to improve platform resilience, security, and enterprise-scale performance.
- Design reusable services, tools, and automation to improve engineering productivity and enable high-value use cases.
- Advance agile, DevOps, and AI engineering practices to accelerate delivery, quality, and business impact.
- Lead by example in AI-enabled DevOps and help shape platform capabilities and engineering standards.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field.
- 4+ years of software development using a language such as Python, Ruby, JavaScript, C/C++, Rust, or Go.
- Experience with Kubernetes or Nomad, and modern cloud-enabled software stacks using Azure or AWS.
- Experience delivering technical business solutions in an Agile environment and working with customers and technical teams.
- Experience with AI workflows, LLMs, and RAG pipelines; tools named include Claude, Codex, Copilot, and AIDLC.
Preferred qualifications
- Healthcare information systems, healthcare transactions, and data knowledge are beneficial.
- Knowledge of Optum businesses and enterprise platforms is beneficial.
- Modern computer vision knowledge is beneficial.
- Strong communication, documentation, attention to detail, organization, and collaboration are preferred.
