Commure builds an AI platform for healthcare workflows, including clinical documentation, patient and revenue workflows, and revenue cycle management.

The platform integrates with more than 60 EHRs and supports healthcare organizations and clinicians.

About the role

Senior Software Engineer on the Infrastructure team, owning foundational infrastructure and the internal developer platform.

The horizontal team supports multiple products and designs, builds, and operates infrastructure end to end.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role with broad scope, architectural decisions, and responsibility for setting engineering patterns.

Platform scope and stack

  • Scope includes cloud infrastructure and IaC, Kubernetes orchestration, internal developer platform, GitOps deployment, service mesh, networking, observability, zero-trust access, and on-premises connectivity.
  • The current stack spans GCP, AWS, and Azure; Terraform and controller-based infrastructure; Argo CD; Helm; Prometheus; Grafana; and OpenTelemetry.

What you'll do

  • Build platform templates, self-service tools, local development environments, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Manage cloud foundations using infrastructure as code and controller-based provisioning, including Crossplane and Kubernetes operators.
  • Operate Kubernetes clusters, upgrades, autoscaling, node management, and multi-cluster patterns; shape packaging and deployment with Helm.
  • Design service mesh, ingress, mTLS, and traffic management.
  • Own Argo CD and GitOps release workflows, progressive delivery, rollbacks, and environment promotion.
  • Build and maintain observability instrumentation, metrics, dashboards, tracing, logging, and alerting.
  • Develop zero-trust access, VPN, BeyondCorp, short-lived credentials, and on-premises connectivity.
  • Work with Security on secrets management, policy as code, and secure-by-default practices meeting HIPAA and SOC 2 expectations.

What you have

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience in infrastructure, platform, or site reliability engineering.
  • Experience building internal developer platforms with a product mindset.
  • Experience with public cloud and managed services, including GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • Experience with on-premises or hybrid environments and data center or cloud migrations.
  • Experience with cloud-native technologies and infrastructure as code, such as Terraform or Pulumi.
  • Experience with controller-based infrastructure management, such as Crossplane or Kubernetes operators.
  • Experience with service mesh, software-defined networking, GitOps, progressive delivery, and observability stacks.
  • Experience in regulated industries with HIPAA and SOC 2 obligations.

Compensation

  • Compensation range is $170K–$220K.
