Senior Software Engineer, Identity Platform

Role overview

Identity Platform responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain authentication and authorization systems.
• Build identity systems supporting OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWTs, sessions, workload identity, service authentication, API security, and token management.
• Implement RBAC, ABAC, policy-based authorization, and fine-grained access control.
• Build reusable identity services, SDKs, middleware, and shared libraries.
• Develop Agentic Security capabilities for agent identity, delegated authorization, policy enforcement, and secure tool access.
• Integrate enterprise identity providers and customer SSO solutions.

Frameworks responsibilities

• Contribute to shared platform services, developer frameworks, and reusable engineering infrastructure.
• Improve application performance, scalability, and operational reliability.
• Build developer productivity tooling for CI/CD, local development, testing, and automation.
• Improve observability through monitoring, logging, tracing, dashboards, and alerting.
• Participate in architecture reviews, design discussions, and production incident response.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and technical collaboration.

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production backend systems.
• Strong experience with authentication and authorization systems and related IAM protocols and models.
• Strong understanding of application security, trust boundaries, identity propagation, secure APIs, and secure development.
• Experience with backend distributed systems, APIs, databases, caching, asynchronous processing, and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience operating production services in Kubernetes or similar containerized environments.
• Experience with CI/CD, observability, production monitoring, and operational best practices.
• Strong programming skills in Python or Go.

Preferred experience

• Experience building identity platform or IAM services used across multiple products or teams.
• Experience integrating AWS Cognito, Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace, or Auth0.
• Experience with AI platforms or agentic security concepts.
• Experience with FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, cloud-native infrastructure, and distributed microservices.

Security responsibilities

• Employees must follow information security policies and protect assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction, or interference.
• Employees must report confirmed or potential security events or risks and attest to these requirements upon hire and annually.

Compensation

• The stated compensation range is $180,000 to $230,000; no compensation cadence is specified.
