RBC seeks a hands-on Senior Software Developer in Test to improve the quality and reliability of banking applications.
The role combines test automation, banking domain knowledge, AI-enabled testing, and subject-matter expertise in standards, compliance, and automation strategy.
The role works with business analysts, product owners, development teams, and partners across Canada and worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks and functional and regression test scripts for banking applications.
- Create risk-aware test strategies based on banking operations, compliance requirements, and business workflows.
- Build scalable, maintainable automation solutions using AI-driven tools and emerging technologies.
- Define automation scope and oversee end-to-end delivery; manage framework infrastructure and code repositories.
- Use AI/ML to improve test-case generation and execution, reduce manual effort, and support intelligent test data generation and anomaly detection.
- Identify risks, create test plans, execute test cases, and champion end-to-end application quality.
- Analyze test data requirements and create and condition test data.
- Monitor and report test coverage, defect metrics, and application quality.
- Communicate frequently with RBC partners and employees across Canada and worldwide.
Must-have qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, plus 4+ years of SDET experience.
- Proficiency in Java, Python, Vue, Angular, Node, Oracle, and SQL queries for test data mining, generation, and conditioning.
- Extensive experience with Selenium, Playwright, BDD/TDD, and Cucumber framework development.
- Experience testing banking applications and knowledge of banking workflows, financial products, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins.
- Hands-on API testing with Postman or SOAPUI, and experience with API development and model integration through APIs.
- Understanding of deep learning fundamentals, RAG, and LLMs.
