Role overview

Accounting and reporting responsibilities

• Review reconciliations, journals, management accounts, and service-provider outputs; identify, challenge, and resolve issues.
• Oversee accounting activities with TCS, Northern Trust, and NatWest; support month-end reporting and financial and regulatory returns.
• Guide Scheme Accounts Analysts and improve review, escalation, controls, documentation, and ways of working.
• The team owns the Scheme general ledger, produces monthly Scheme accounts, and prepares external publications and returns.
• The team monitors the Scheme General Account, approves payments, and manages Nest's banking relationship.

Minimum criteria

• Substantial experience in cash, bank, or investment accounting, reconciliations, or management accounts; relevant pension, financial services, administration, or high-volume transaction experience is ideal.
• Experience supporting or coordinating month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, journals, management account schedules, or audit evidence.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills; strong Excel skills and confidence with financial systems, reporting tools, and large datasets.
• Experience working with third-party providers, challenging outputs, and resolving operational or financial issues.
• Degree educated, part-qualified, qualified by experience, or fully qualified accountant.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, independence, judgment, and clear escalation; resilient and adaptable in a changing environment.

Working arrangements

• Hybrid working between the Canary Wharf, London office and home, with office attendance expected once or twice a week or more as required.
• Working hours or days may be reduced or varied, subject to role requirements.
