Join Nest's Pension Scheme Accounting Team as a Senior Scheme Accounts Analyst.
Own a key pension scheme accounting workstream, supporting accurate financial information, effective controls, and high-quality reporting.
Work with TCS, Northern Trust, and NatWest on critical accounting activities.
Key responsibilities
- Review reconciliations, journals, management accounts, and service provider outputs; challenge and resolve issues.
- Support month-end reporting and contribute to financial and regulatory returns.
- Guide Scheme Accounts Analysts and strengthen review and escalation processes.
- Improve controls, documentation, and working practices.
Minimum criteria
- Substantial experience in cash, bank, investment accounting, reconciliations, or management accounts; pension, financial services, administration, or high-volume transaction experience is ideal.
- Experience supporting or coordinating month-end reporting, reconciliations, journals, management account schedules, or audit evidence.
- Strong numerical, analytical, problem-solving, and Excel skills; confidence using financial systems, reporting tools, and large datasets.
- Experience working with third-party service providers and resolving issues arising from their outputs.
- Degree educated, part-qualified, qualified by experience, or fully qualified accountant.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation, independent judgement, and clear escalation; resilient and adaptable in changing conditions.
Flexible and agile working
- Hybrid working combines the Canary Wharf, London office and home working.
- There is an expectation to attend the office once or twice a week, or more often if required.
- Working hours and days may be reduced or varied, subject to role requirements.
Team context
The Pension Scheme Accounting Team owns the Scheme general ledger and produces monthly accounts and external publications, including the Scheme Annual Report and Accounts and regulatory returns.
The Finance team is undertaking change and enhancement across its disciplines.
