Senior Reservoir Engineer

Job purpose

Key accountabilities and activities

• Propose and design data acquisition programs for EOR maturation, including fluids, conventional and SCAL data, well tests, logs, and cores.
• Lead EOR projects and internal technical studies through maturation; develop fit-for-purpose reservoir modelling strategies and workflows.
• Mentor junior team members in EOR modelling techniques and strategies; provide expert assistance building and maintaining simulation models.
• Coordinate specialty studies and lead external studies supporting EOR maturation across ALS reservoirs; guide third-party contractors.
• Support EOR pilots and their field development implementation, including monitoring; mature technology field trials and monitoring plans.
• Develop EOR deployment strategies for pilots, small commercial pilots, and large-scale deployment, with positive business cases.
• Maintain the EOR roadmap and progress projects through defined decision gates; contribute EOR input to annual reserves, LRBP, and RoFo exercises.
• Provide validated production profiles for project, well, and study economic evaluations; act as an EOR simulation point of excellence and support NOC modelling strategies.
• Represent NOC in technical presentations and validation with internal and external stakeholders; independently produce high-quality presentations and documentation.

Education and experience

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant geosciences discipline or another relevant technical discipline.
• At least 10 years of reservoir engineering experience in oil and gas, including at least 3 years in a dedicated EOR role.
• Polymer, surfactant, or WAG experience is preferred; knowledge of low-API or low-permeability EOR applications is preferable.
• Must be able to work independently, make technical decisions without supervision, engage internally, and contribute to or lead technical discussions.

Technical focus

• Dynamic simulation and EOR modelling using Eclipse and IX.
• EOR techniques, maturation workflows, reservoir data acquisition, and field deployment strategies.
