Design, install, evaluate, and execute quality assurance and control processes, procedures, and statistical techniques.
Quality assurance and testing
- Maintain knowledge of standard practices and tools for QA and quality control; understand system areas, environments, and limitations relevant to project testing.
- Review test procedures and results with the Quality Team Leader and ensure suitable actions are covered.
- Build test data and cases; write clear bug reports, track fixes, and check for side effects with developers.
- Test full software cycles, quality attributes, and business logic; control and contribute to software application testing.
- Contribute QA ideas, enhancements, process improvements, and departmental research.
Team and delivery support
- Assess testing practices and their efficiency.
- Estimate and plan software delivery testing, coordinating priorities and deadlines.
- Support team members' professional development and help ensure approved client requirements are met.
Technical skills
- Working knowledge of SQL databases and queries, or other relational databases.
- Experience with one or more of JavaScript, VBScript, or CSS, and with issue-tracking software and testing database-driven web applications.
- Very good understanding and practical experience using MS Team Foundation Server; test automation experience is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of software development life cycle practices using Waterfall and Scrum; DevOps experience is a strong plus.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or an information-technology-related field.
- A master's degree is a plus.
