Job Title: Senior QC Civil Engineer (Oil & Gas)

Location: UAE / Project Site

Department: Quality Control / QAQC

Reports To: QA/QC Manager / Project Manager

Job Summary

The Senior QC Civil Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all civil construction activities comply with project specifications, approved drawings, international standards, and client requirements in oil & gas projects. The role involves inspection, documentation, and coordination with project teams to maintain quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Control & Inspection

• Conduct inspections of civil works (earthworks, concrete, foundations, structures, paving, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with approved ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans) and method statements
• Monitor site activities to ensure adherence to project specifications and standards
• Witness tests (concrete, soil compaction, rebar inspection, etc.)

2. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and review Inspection Requests (IRs) and Material Inspection Requests (MIRs)
• Maintain QA/QC documentation, reports, and records
• Prepare daily/weekly quality reports
• Ensure proper documentation for handover dossiers

3. Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions

• Identify and report Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
• Follow up on corrective and preventive actions
• Ensure closure of quality issues in coordination with site teams

4. Coordination

• Coordinate with construction, engineering, and client representatives
• Attend quality meetings and site inspections with consultants/clients
• Ensure smooth communication between QA/QC and site execution teams

5. Material & Vendor Inspection

• Verify material compliance with approved specifications
• Conduct vendor inspections when required
• Ensure proper storage and handling of materials on site

6. Standards & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with:
• Project specifications
• International standards (ASTM, BS, ACI, ISO)
• Client standards (e.g., ADNOC, Aramco, etc.)
• Promote quality awareness and best practices on site

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 8–12 years of experience in QA/QC for oil & gas projects
• Experience in EPC / construction projects preferred

Certifications (Preferred)

• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor / Internal Auditor
• CSWIP / BGAS (if applicable)
• NDT Level II (advantage)
• ADNOC/ARAMCO approvals (highly preferred in UAE/GCC)

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures and documentation
• Familiarity with civil testing standards and inspection procedures
• Excellent communication and coordination skills
• Problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Proficient in MS Office and QA/QC software
