Senior Project Finance Analyst

Position summary

Work arrangement

• May be performed remotely from an approved location, subject to business needs and applicable requirements.

Project financial management

• Manage assigned project finances from setup through completion and closeout; own P&L and balance sheet performance, including revenue, margin, costs, reserves, working capital, and cash flow.
• Monitor financial indicators, review performance with Project Managers, challenge assumptions, and identify actions to achieve commitments.
• Analyze actual results against budget, forecast, and prior expectations; investigate variances and drive corrective actions.

Forecasting and reporting

• Maintain forecasts, including cost-to-complete and estimate-at-completion updates; identify risks and opportunities and reflect them in forecasts and reporting.
• Manage month-end close and ensure accurate revenue recognition, costs, accruals, reserves, and balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare financial analysis and reporting for project and business reviews.

Billing and business partnership

• Monitor project billing and invoice accuracy; work with project, commercial, accounts receivable, and customer contacts to resolve issues and support cash collection.
• Monitor working capital and identify ways to improve cash flow.
• Advise Project Management and Operations, communicate financial insights, improve processes and controls, and support finance transformation and financial systems.

Audit and controls

• Support internal and external audits with project documentation and explanations.
• Ensure compliance with policies, controls, and accounting requirements; identify control weaknesses and support corrective actions.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
• Three to five years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, project finance, FP&A, or controllership.
• Strong financial and analytical skills, understanding of P&L and balance sheets, and experience with forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
• Strong problem-solving skills, independent issue resolution, and ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.

Preferred experience

• Experience in project-based businesses, manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or similar environments is preferred.
