Work arrangement

  • The position can be performed remotely from an approved location, subject to business needs and applicable requirements.
  • Travel of up to 25% is required, including travel to Langley, British Columbia, and Arlington, Texas.

Opportunity

Thomson Power Systems, a Regal Rexnord company, is seeking a Senior Product Manager for its switchgear portfolio.

The role leads quotation and R&D engineers and drives product and pricing strategy and portfolio management through the Regal Rexnord Business System.

Main responsibilities

  • Own margin expansion and cost management for the switchgear product line.
  • Lead product growth strategies aligned with the annual operating plan and long-term objectives.
  • Maintain a differentiated roadmap focused on innovation, competitiveness, and customer value.
  • Manage product lifecycle sustainability and aftermarket strategy.
  • Partner with Marketing on go-to-market strategies and with Sales on market, customer, investment, revenue, and financial plans.
  • Direct NPD/NPI activities with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, Trade Compliance, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Define, track, and communicate performance metrics; build organizational capability and employee engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • At least five years of technical experience in power distribution, including switchgear products, and seven years of progressive leadership experience in relevant product, engineering, marketing, or commercial roles.
  • Recognized subject matter expertise in switchgear products and applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of listed UL, CSA, ANSI/IEEE, and NEC/CEC switchgear standards.
  • Understanding of customer segments, market trends, competitive positioning, and portfolio and technology gaps.
  • Experience with structured business system frameworks supporting NPD/NPI.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency and working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP or equivalent.
  • P.Eng. or P.E. certification is a strong asset.
  • Professional fluency in English; ability to influence senior executives and industry peers.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada or the United States without company sponsorship.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25%, have no travel restrictions, and possess a valid passport for international travel.

Salary

  • The posted salary range is $150,000–$200,000+ USD and/or CAD; compensation depends on location and candidate and business factors.
