Role overview

Responsibilities and duties

• Assist Project Managers with project execution and participate in project, HSE, design and pre-start-up reviews.
• Monitor work, deliverables and close-out; report project status and progress to management regularly.
• Coordinate discipline interfaces and ensure requirements are incorporated into project work.
• Interpret client requirements and monitor compliance with codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
• Coordinate with project participants and external parties, providing technical support and maintaining customer and supplier interfaces.
• Prioritize workload and identify developing technical problems, taking appropriate corrective action.
• Provide guidance during implementation and review technical proposals for viability.
• Support safe, quality, timely and cost-efficient project delivery, resource efficiency and compliance with HSE requirements.
• Ensure project software is available and efficiently utilized; suggest training and performance improvements.
• Track progress, productivity, remaining work, cost and time to support forecasting and reporting.
• Evaluate scope variations from time, cost and scope perspectives and present them to management.
• Ensure agreed deliverables meet scope, schedule and quality requirements.

Preferred skills and requirements

• BSc or MSc in an engineering discipline.
• At least 15 years of relevant project management and control experience, including at least 10 years in oil and gas, refining, petrochemical or chemical industries.
• Experience in project delivery stages including studies, FEED and detailed engineering.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and strong people-management ability, including customer-interface understanding.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and overcome challenges and pressure during peak activities.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Strong understanding of project control, scheduling and engineering business dynamics.
• Recognized professional certifications and affiliations are a plus; PMP certification is preferred.
• Short-notice availability is an added value.
