Role overview
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer reports to the Head of Discipline, Electrical, and will execute projects and support bids in Abu Dhabi.
The role handles design review and analysis for major or multiple smaller projects and leads and executes local and international projects.
Responsibilities and duties
- Support process-industry project design and assist engineers and managers with project engineering design.
- Verify source data and prepare concept drawings or concepts as required.
- Prepare and finalize the engineering document deliverable register in coordination with relevant disciplines and client or contract submission dates.
- Prepare electrical deliverables using SPEL, AutoCAD, MicroStation, ETAP, cable-sizing tools, lighting-calculation tools, and office software.
- Perform relay setting and coordination and CT sizing; additional knowledge of OHL, GIS, EHT, CP, OLCMS, IPCS, and VSD is noted.
- Prepare RFQs, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations; review vendor documents against purchase-order requirements.
- Prepare or review design computations, drawings, and specifications and review documents from other disciplines and subcontractors.
- Coordinate client reviews and approvals, resolve technical issues through queries, and incorporate health, safety, quality, and constructability requirements.
- Coordinate discipline deliverables and procurement inputs; participate in E-HAZOP, HAZID, FAT, SAT, commissioning, and pre-commissioning, and coordinate as-built preparation.
- Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, IEC, BS, applicable laws, statutory and authority requirements, and project HSEQ requirements.
Qualifications
- BSc or MSc in Engineering.
- At least 15 years of relevant electrical engineering experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, or chemical industries.
- FEED and EPC project experience, including delivery to ADNOC Onshore.
- Experience with a reputable engineering consultant is advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; team-oriented, smart-working, and able to solve problems.
- Fluent English is required; Arabic is an added advantage.
- Meet UAE visa requirements and share the stated company values.
