Senior Planning Engineer

Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules, baselines, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and resource-loaded programs using Primavera P6.
• Monitor project progress against approved schedules and identify deviations, delays, and potential risks.
• Perform critical path analysis and recommend corrective actions and recovery plans where required.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, schedule updates, variance analyses, and forecasting reports.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure project milestones are achieved.
• Review subcontractor schedules and monitor progress to ensure alignment with the overall project program.
• Participate in progress review meetings and provide planning support to project teams.
• Analyze project performance data and provide recommendations to improve productivity and project outcomes.
• Assist in the preparation and evaluation of Extension of Time (EOT) claims and delay analyses.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, project specifications, company procedures, and HSE standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in planning and scheduling within the construction industry.
• Proven experience in building construction projects, including high-rise, residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments.
• Strong expertise in Primavera P6 and working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
• Experience in preparing baseline schedules, recovery schedules, and resource-loaded programs.
• Sound knowledge of project planning, scheduling, project controls, and construction methodologies.
• Ability to perform critical path analysis, delay analysis, and project forecasting.
• Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and contractual planning requirements is preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• UAE/GCC construction experience is highly preferred.
• PMP and/or Primavera P6 Certification will be an advantage.
