Role overview

CGI seeks a senior Microsoft Fabric and Power BI specialist for an enterprise-scale data and analytics transformation.

The role provides technical expertise and architecture for complex analytics, semantic modelling, large-scale optimization, and Microsoft Fabric governance.

This is a strategic, long-term assignment in a complex, high-volume technology environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize Power BI semantic models and large-scale data models; optimize datasets, tabular models, and reports.
  • Define analytics architecture, development standards, and BI best practices; assess technology changes and recommend architecture.
  • Use XMLA Endpoints and Tabular Editor for production model development, deployment, maintenance, management, automation, and optimization.
  • Contribute to platform evolution and migration to Microsoft Fabric; design data governance and self-service analytics frameworks.
  • Govern Power BI workspaces, access, certification, and practices; use Azure DevOps for requirements, tracking, documentation, and delivery.
  • Act as technical authority for developers, analysts, architects, and data specialists; lead, mentor, and transfer knowledge.
  • Work within an Agile/Scrum environment.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
  • At least 12 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data, or Analytics, including at least 5 years in a senior role.
  • Significant hands-on Power BI and Microsoft Fabric experience; proven production delivery of Power BI semantic models.
  • Experience with very large-scale data environments; fact tables exceeding one billion records are preferred.
  • Strong experience with XMLA Endpoints and Tabular Editor; experience with Azure DevOps and Power BI or Microsoft Fabric governance.
  • Experience serving as technical lead or primary technical authority on complex initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Compensation

  • The stated reasonable estimated pay range is $70,000 to $140,000; no compensation cadence is specified.
  • Compensation decisions depend on factors including skills, geographic market, experience, training, and licenses or certifications.
