Role overview

Project delivery and coordination

• Manage and supervise mechanical works from mobilization through testing, commissioning, and final handover.
• Review IFC drawings, specifications, BOQ, approved shop drawings, and technical requirements; plan and monitor installation against the approved programme.
• Supervise HVAC, chilled water, DX and VRF/VRV, ventilation, plumbing, water supply, drainage, firefighting, pumps, tanks, valves, and associated mechanical systems.
• Coordinate works with electrical, architectural, structural, civil, and other disciplines; review shop, coordination, builders' work, and as-built drawings.
• Identify design discrepancies, technical conflicts, constructability issues, and site coordination problems; raise RFIs where required.
• Prepare and review technical submittals, material submittals, method statements, ITPs, and project documentation.

Site, quality, and handover

• Coordinate with consultants and clients for inspections, approvals, technical clarifications, and work acceptance.
• Check delivered materials against approved submittals, specifications, and standards; coordinate procurement approvals, purchasing, and site delivery.
• Prepare material requirements, technical evaluations, and quantity take-offs as needed.
• Supervise subcontractors and site teams; inspect workmanship and installation quality and monitor progress, delays, risks, resource shortages, and coordination issues.
• Coordinate mechanical activities with planning teams, attend project and technical meetings, and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports as required.
• Ensure QA/QC and HSE compliance; close NCRs, inspection comments, punch lists, and technical issues.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning, including pressure testing, flushing, balancing, and functional testing as applicable; prepare inspection requests and test records.
• Coordinate as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties, spare-parts documentation, and final handover records; guide engineers, supervisors, foremen, technicians, and subcontractors.
• Deliver mechanical works within approved budget, quality standards, and project deadlines.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8–10 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience in construction or MEP projects.
• Minimum five years of UAE/GCC experience is highly preferred.
• Strong experience with MEP contracting or general contracting companies.
• Proven experience managing mechanical works on commercial, industrial, infrastructure, warehouse, residential, or large-scale building projects.
• Strong knowledge of UAE mechanical installation practices and authority requirements.
• Experience coordinating with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams.

Technical knowledge
