Senior Mechanical Engineer - Water supporting maintenance at Ras Abu Fontes Power Station, Qatar.
The stated job function includes engineering and maintenance, with experience in multistage flash evaporator and reverse osmosis systems.
Responsibilities
- Review defect cards, work orders, and resource needs for assigned areas.
- Organize resources for planned and preventive maintenance under work permits; assist with work scopes and risk assessments.
- Recommend stock levels for frequently used spare parts.
- Execute inspections, overhauls, breakdown maintenance, and major repairs.
- Mobilize resources on site, conduct toolbox talks, and maintain 4C safety cards.
- Report daily progress, issues, and resource needs; assist in diagnosing plant machinery faults.
- Train staff, including Qatari nationals, in technical skills and safety compliance.
- Assist with spare-parts inspections and machine-part development with fabricators and machinists.
- Monitor area budgets, report variances, and support compliant, cost-effective service.
- Implement assigned team procedures and contribute to continuous improvement, productivity, sustainability, and cost reduction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is mandatory.
- Eight years of similar-role experience in large Energy or Power sector companies is essential.
- Good understanding of power/energy and water sectors, trends, and technologies.
- Hands-on operational and implementation experience; problem-solving and analytical skills.
- English proficiency is mandatory; Arabic is a plus.
