Senior Mechanical Engineer (MCF/ Data Centres) - Riyadh

Role overview

Engineering and project delivery

• Manage and deliver mechanical work packages across multiple projects.
• Define scope, design, and management objectives and deliver documentation for contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
• Develop detailed designs, technical specifications, and reports.
• Support preparation and review of project costs and risk assessments.
• Perform risk management, assessments, and testing and commissioning protocols in live data centres.

Vendors and coordination

• Maintain vendor relationships and review contractor pre-qualifications.
• Prepare tender evaluation summaries, evaluate proposals, and recommend vendors to clients.
• Represent Haskoning at factory acceptance tests and site testing and commissioning.
• Communicate project status to internal directors and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to internal process improvement and knowledge sharing in a multidisciplinary team.

Location and work arrangement

• The role is based in Haskoning's Riyadh office and works with clients and colleagues in Saudi Arabia and the international data-centre network.
• The stated schedule is four working days per week from the Riyadh office and one remote working day.

Candidate requirements

• Technical university degree in mechanical engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience, including 5 or more years in mechanical design for data centres or other critical facilities.
• Strong proficiency in Revit and knowledge of design and construction practices, codes, and regulations.
• Understanding of clients' daily operational business.
• KSA or Middle East experience and excellent English are required.
• Arabic is a strong advantage; affinity with BIM360, CDE, or similar platforms is also noted.
• Proactive, entrepreneurial, result-oriented, flexible, and problem-solving approach.
