The opportunity

Senior Mechanical Engineer role delivering mechanical building services designs across a range of projects.

Reports to the Principal Engineer and works with multidisciplinary teams.

Design and project delivery

  • Produce mechanical engineering designs, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, regulations, standards, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate technical work with multidisciplinary teams and support successful project delivery.
  • Engage with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders throughout design.
  • Provide technical input for project budgets and design proposals.
  • Identify project risks, scope changes, and opportunities to improve delivery.
  • Support client relationships, business growth, project planning, programme management, and cost control.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Higher National qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Membership, or working towards membership, of a recognized professional institution such as CIBSE.

Experience and technical capability

  • Experience delivering mechanical building services designs in an MEP consulting environment.
  • Exposure to varied building sectors and project types; strong understanding of design codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Cymap, Hevacomp, IES, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, ventilation, cooling, domestic water services, drainage, and associated building services systems.
  • Strong communication skills and experience in multidisciplinary delivery environments.
