Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead complex projects from concept through detailed design and construction support; oversee quality across teams and stages.
• Develop and review designs, specifications, calculations, reports, drawings, and contract documents; ensure code and client compliance.
• Act as technical authority and trusted client adviser; support resource planning, project strategy, and technical risk management.
• Coordinate with mechanical, public health, structural, and architectural teams; lead reviews, workshops, value engineering, and design coordination.
• Support business development, proposals, and client presentations; mentor engineers and promote innovation, sustainability, and best practice.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSc/BEng) or equivalent.
• Significant MEP electrical design consultancy experience delivering complex building and infrastructure projects.
• Proven multidisciplinary team leadership and electrical project delivery experience.
• Strong knowledge of international and regional electrical codes, standards, and regulations; ability to lead client relationships and provide strategic technical direction.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and recognised electrical design software; commercial awareness of budgets, programme delivery, and change management.
• Data centre experience is highly desirable. Chartered Engineer status or membership of IET, CIBSE, or an equivalent institution is preferred.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills; collaborative ownership and continuous improvement.
