Role overview

Associate Director – Mechanical Engineering role with project, team, technical, and business leadership responsibilities.

The role involves complex, high-value MEP projects and close work with senior leadership and multidisciplinary teams.

What you’ll be doing

Lead and develop engineers, creating a high-performance culture and building team capability.
Act as technical authority on projects, guiding design and delivery.
Manage projects end to end, meeting client expectations on time and within budget.
Build relationships with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
Contribute to commercial performance, fee proposals, and project profitability.
Participate in office leadership and wider business strategy.
Ensure health, safety, and compliance standards are consistently met across the team.
Support business growth and client development while influencing project strategy and technical direction.

Strong background in mechanical building-services design within an MEP consultancy.
Experience leading complex projects and managing multidisciplinary teams.
Commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets and project profitability.
Confident communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Understanding of relevant codes, standards, and regulatory frameworks.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Cymap, IES, or similar industry design tools.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Chartered status or working toward chartered status is preferred.
