Role overview

Serve as a seasoned member of an agile team in the Commercial and Investment Bank, delivering secure, stable, and scalable technology products.

The role carries Vice President scope and includes technical delivery and team-level adoption of responsible AI-assisted engineering practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions; produce architecture and design artifacts and ensure code satisfies design constraints.
  • Write secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that operate with appropriate systems.
  • Lead authorized AI-assisted engineering adoption, set validation standards, and promote reuse of effective practices.
  • Coach engineers on responsible AI use, including data sensitivity, secure handling, resiliency, and security.
  • Analyze diverse datasets and create reporting and visualizations to improve applications, coding hygiene, and system architecture.
  • Contribute to engineering communities and emerging-technology events and support an inclusive team culture.

Required qualifications and skills

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on system design, application development, testing, and operational stability experience.
  • Proficiency in Java 11+ and modern Java; extensive Spring Boot 3.x and Spring Framework 5.x or 6.x experience.
  • Strong experience with IBM MQ, Jakarta JMS, Apache Kafka, message-driven architectures, and Apache Camel.
  • Experience building RESTful APIs and SOAP services; knowledge of HTTP clients and web-service security.
  • Microsoft SQL Server, JDBC, Spring JDBC templates, stored procedures, and DAO implementation experience.
  • JUnit 5, Mockito, test-driven development, code coverage, and deep Maven knowledge.
  • Financial-industry experience.
  • Experience leading approved AI-assisted development and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Responsible AI engineering knowledge and experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant practices.

Preferred qualifications

  • AWS MSK, cloud-native application deployment, and AWS infrastructure integration.
  • Microservices architecture, distributed systems, service-to-service communication, and resilience patterns.
  • Cucumber/BDD acceptance testing, feature files, and living documentation.
