Senior ICT Engineer

Role overview

ICT delivery and handover

• Lead ICT completion, testing, commissioning, and handover across water infrastructure assets and facilities.
• Verify and accept fiber optic networks, structured cabling, LAN/WAN, telecommunications, wireless networks, CCTV, access control, public address, and associated infrastructure.
• Coordinate technical issues, defects, punch list items, RFIs, and NCRs; review commissioning procedures, reports, and performance results.
• Ensure integration with operational technologies and supporting infrastructure where required.
• Review and accept as-built drawings, asset registers, configuration records, warranties, and O&M documentation.

Readiness and compliance

• Coordinate handover with client, operations, contractor, and commissioning stakeholders.
• Support operational readiness through system demonstrations, training, and technical knowledge transfer.
• Monitor contractor performance and completion of deliverables against close-out milestones.
• Promote compliance with project standards, cybersecurity requirements, ICT governance standards, and applicable regulations.

Experience and education

• At least 10 years of ICT engineering experience on major infrastructure, utilities, transportation, industrial, or construction projects, including commissioning and handover.
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, telecommunications engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience delivering ICT systems for large-scale infrastructure, utility, water, transportation, or industrial projects.

Technical qualifications

• Strong knowledge of structured cabling, fiber optic networks, LAN/WAN, telecommunications, wireless systems, CCTV, access control, public address, data centres, network architecture, and ICT integration.
• Experience with network monitoring tools, ICT management platforms, Autodesk Construction Cloud, document management systems, BIM environments, and digital asset information platforms.
• Understanding of contractor management, project delivery, change management, risk management, commissioning coordination, and project close-out.

Leadership and preferred qualifications

• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, analytical problem-solving, and decision-making skills, including multidisciplinary coordination.
• CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, CISSP, or equivalent industry certification is preferred.
• Experience on large-scale water, utilities, or infrastructure projects in the Middle East is highly desirable.
