Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi for a Senior Heavy Machinery Trainer and Instructor specializing in heavy-duty machines such as bulldozers, earth-moving equipment, forklifts, and heavy vehicles.
The role involves planning, delivering, and evaluating practical and classroom training programs for operators and maintenance staff, ensuring safe and efficient use of heavy machinery.
The trainer will design training materials, operating procedures, and assessment tools, and will conduct regular skills evaluations, refresher courses, and safety drills.
Daily activities include demonstrating machine operation, overseeing hands-on practice, monitoring compliance with safety standards, and providing coaching and feedback to improve performance.
The role also requires coordination with operations and HSE teams to align training with company policies, regulatory requirements, and project needs.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in operating and instructing on heavy-duty machinery, including bulldozers, earth-moving equipment, forklifts, and heavy vehicles.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering technical and safety-focused training programs in construction, transport, or industrial environments.
- Solid understanding of equipment maintenance basics, safe operating procedures, and relevant HSE regulations and standards.
- Ability to design structured training curricula, manuals, and assessment tools for both new and experienced operators.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and coaching skills, with the ability to train a diverse workforce and manage group sessions.
- Proven capability to conduct practical skills assessments, identify training needs, and provide clear performance feedback.
- Relevant technical or vocational qualification in heavy machinery operation, mechanical engineering, or a related field; instructor or trainer certification is an advantage.
- Previous experience in the GCC or similar large-scale construction or transportation projects is preferred.
- Commitment to workplace safety, continuous improvement, and adherence to ISO 9000, ISO 14000, and ISO 45000 principles.
