Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi for a Construction Manager and Engineer with experience in water works and utilities.
The role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising construction activities for water pipelines, networks, and related utility infrastructure to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities include managing site teams and subcontractors, reviewing drawings and specifications, preparing work schedules, and ensuring proper allocation of resources, materials, and equipment.
The Construction Manager and Engineer will monitor project progress, track costs, support project control and reporting, and address technical issues that arise on site.
The role also includes enforcing construction safety procedures, liaising with clients, consultants, and authorities, and preparing technical documentation, reports, and handover records.
Qualifications
- Strong supervisory skills to lead site teams, coordinate subcontractors, and manage daily construction operations.
- Proficiency in construction planning and execution, particularly in water works, pipelines, and utilities infrastructure.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and practices, with a demonstrated ability to implement and enforce HSE requirements.
- Experience in budgeting, cost tracking, and resource allocation to ensure financial control of construction activities.
- Familiarity with project control processes, including scheduling, progress monitoring, reporting, and risk mitigation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Previous experience in construction management roles within water and utilities projects, preferably in the UAE or GCC region.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering and project management software (e.g., MS Office, project scheduling tools; knowledge of CAD is an advantage).
- Commitment to quality, safety, and environmental standards aligned with ISO-certified practices.
