The Senior Automation Engineering role manages test automation, engineering, and DevOps practices across Group IT.
The role defines automation frameworks, designs DevOps CI/CD solutions, and manages proof-of-concepts for new test automation tools.
The position supports scalable automation adoption and AI-enabled quality, security, and performance controls.
Key responsibilities
- Define, design, implement, maintain, and enhance enterprise-grade test automation frameworks.
- Embed test automation, DevOps, and CI/CD best practices into delivery practices.
- Implement test automation, RPA, and AI-driven automation solutions across service lines.
- Build automation platforms using UiPath RPA and AI components such as OCR and machine-learning models.
- Design CI/CD solutions integrating automated testing, RPA workflows, and AI-assisted validation.
- Evaluate automation tools and promote responsible, governed use of AI.
- Conduct proof-of-concepts and support test automation teams across Group IT.
- Develop Selenium-based automation tools using BDD, Appium, Rest Assured, and Karate.
- Build automation solutions adoptable by business and non-technical teams.
- Address complex PDF automation and test-execution recording issues.
Qualifications
- 14+ years of experience in test automation, functional testing, and DevOps is required.
- Experience with Selenium, Cucumber, Core Java, VB, Docker, Kubernetes, UFT, IBM tools, and service virtualization is required.
- Experience designing Selenium Java BDD Cucumber frameworks for web and mobile applications is required.
- Experience with GitLab repositories, CI/CD pipeline architecture, Kubernetes deployment with Helm, and on-premise deployment is required.
- Hands-on experience with web, mobile, API, and desktop applications using VB and Java is required.
- Experience with BrowserStack and IBM RIT service virtualization is required.
- Experience coordinating offshore and onshore teams, vendors, and large automation projects is required.
- Knowledge of corporate banking, operations, payment systems, and PCI DSS compliance is required.
- AWS Cloud Practitioner, HashiCorp Terraform, and IBM RFT certifications are preferred.
Technical skills
- Selenium, Cucumber BDD, Core Java, VB, Docker, Kubernetes, UFT, and IBM tools are used in the role.
- GitLab CI/CD, Helm, BrowserStack, Appium, Rest Assured, and Karate are relevant technologies.
- UiPath RPA, OCR, Document Understanding, machine-learning models, and AI-assisted validation support intelligent automation.
