Role scope

General commissioning duties

• Review specifications, drawings, contractual documents, and other project materials to establish scope, requirements, constraints, and risks.
• Assess commissioning work, resources, and execution constraints; provide inputs to commissioning proposals at bidding stage.
• Monitor field quality and progress; check construction completion and safety preparations before systems enter commissioning.
• Ensure safe work procedures are followed and lead subcontractors in scheduled commissioning execution.
• Monitor costs and expenses, report overruns, and review risks and HSE matters with the client.
• Coordinate daily progress with the Commissioning Coordinator, team leaders, discipline engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Provide technical guidance to commissioning engineers and supervisors and help resolve execution issues.

Electrical commissioning duties

• Direct daily electrical SAT, energization, and functional testing activities.
• Troubleshoot and provide technical support for transformers, HV/LV switchboards, motors, and relay protection systems.
• Coordinate with QA/QC on quality procedures and internal or client audit requests.
• Ensure testing documents are available and coordinate document corrections with field electrical engineering.
• Identify technical issues, design failures, and discrepancies; initiate corrective action and report findings and lessons learned.

Role capabilities

• Lead commissioning discipline engineers, operators, and subcontractors through pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up.
• Assess commissioning scope, resources, project documents, execution constraints, and risks.
• Conduct Job Safety Analysis and toolbox talks and guide safe electrical commissioning work.
• Guide electrical engineers and supervisors and resolve technical issues involving electrical equipment and protection systems.

Relevant expertise

• Electrical commissioning, pre-commissioning, start-up, SAT, energization, and functional testing.
• Transformers, HV/LV switchboards, motors, and relay protection systems.
• Risk assessment, HSE, cost and schedule control, quality procedures, and audits.
