Senior Engineer - Commissioning

Position scope

Commissioning and project duties

• Lead commissioning discipline engineers and operators through pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up.
• Review scope, specifications, drawings, and contractual documents; identify requirements, constraints, risks, and execution resources.
• Monitor field work quality and progress, conduct Job Safety Analysis and toolbox talks, and provide inputs to bid proposals.
• Verify construction completion and safety readiness before commissioning, and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Lead subcontractors in safe execution to schedule; monitor costs, control expenses, and report overruns.
• Review risk assessments with clients, including HSE issues, and attend daily progress meetings.
• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and commissioning teams to resolve project execution issues.
• Provide technical guidance to electrical engineers and supervisors and direct electrical SAT, energisation, and functional testing.
• Support and troubleshoot transformers, HV/LV switchboards, motors, and relay protection systems.
• Coordinate QA/QC compliance and audits, testing documentation, corrective actions, client interfaces, and reporting of design discrepancies.

Requirements

• Hands-on leadership of commissioning engineers and operators in pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up.
• Ability to review project and contractual documents and identify scope, requirements, constraints, and risks.
• Ability to assess commissioning work, resources, and execution constraints.
• Ability to conduct Job Safety Analysis and toolbox talks.
• Electrical commissioning expertise covering SAT, energisation, functional testing, and listed electrical equipment and systems.
• Ability to lead subcontractors in safe execution of commissioning activities to schedule.
