Senior Supervisor - Commissioning

Role

Primary duties

• Support the Commissioning Engineer or Coordinator and set up technical teams to meet schedules.
• Oversee field quality and progress; coordinate personnel, work fronts, transport, and other disciplines.
• Arrange PPE, PTW, and toolbox talks before work; lead technicians, operators, and subcontractors safely.
• Prepare testing dossiers, drawings, procedures, method statements, P&ID markups, and commissioning tool packages.
• Review spare usage, investigate defective operation, and recommend equipment or operating changes.
• Maintain records and procedures; comply with fire, safety, environmental, and HSSE requirements.
• Control energized areas, access, barricades, LOTO, and SIMOPS.
• Support commissioning and start-up of process systems, including cleaning, leak testing, catalyst loading, steam blowing, inerting, and stabilization.
• Operate or support DCS functions and monitor plant conditions to maintain stable operation.
• Report progress and risks, improve commissioning work, and minimize vendor standby and repeat visits.

Process commissioning capabilities

• Interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams, circuit diagrams, and control narratives accurately.
• Assist with process-system commissioning plans and method statements, including P&ID markups.
• Support plant start-up and operation, guide operators, and assist with DCS alarms, trips, logic, interlocks, permissives, and overrides.
• Monitor flow, level, temperature, and pressure to maintain normal, stable plant or unit operation.
• Implement electrical and mechanical LOTO as required for safe commissioning and start-up.
