Senior Embryologist

Job summary

Location and work setting

Key responsibilities

• Perform egg collection, sperm preparation, embryo culture, embryo biopsy, ICSI, and embryo freezing.
• Supervise and guide junior embryologists and laboratory technicians.
• Manage embryo storage and update patients on embryo development and quality.
• Participate in pre- and post-treatment consultations and answer patient questions.
• Maintain laboratory safety, quality, cleanliness, organization, and appropriate specimen storage.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
• Monitor compliance with national and international ART standards and Ministry of Health regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of laboratory processes, results, patient interactions, and procedures in line with MOH guidance.
• Keep current with developments in embryology and ART techniques.
• Participate in clinical research and develop technologies and protocols to improve success rates.
• Collaborate with IVF specialists, andrology experts, and nursing staff to plan and carry out treatment.
• Consult with patients about embryo health, ART procedures, and expected outcomes; mentor and train staff and support continuing education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Clinical Embryology, Reproductive Biology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in an IVF laboratory.
• Active DOH Abu Dhabi licence is mandatory.
• Proven expertise in ART procedures such as IVF, ICSI, embryo cryopreservation, and sperm function tests.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory protocols, fertility treatments, and ART ethical guidelines.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Familiarity with laboratory management software and documentation practices.

Travel

• Willingness to travel 100% is preferred.
