Role overview

Clinical responsibilities

• Prepare the operating theatre, instruments, equipment, and supplies before procedures.
• Assist physicians during surgical and IVF-related procedures, including oocyte retrieval and embryo transfer.
• Perform circulating and scrub nurse duties in line with competency and facility protocols.
• Apply aseptic techniques, sterilization procedures, infection control, and patient safety standards.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures with medical and anesthesia teams.
• Document nursing care and patient records; follow patient identification, surgical safety checklist, and medication safety protocols.
• Coordinate with CSSD, anesthesia, nursing, and laboratory teams.
• Maintain theatre readiness, equipment functionality, and emergency preparedness.

Qualifications and requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nursing and a valid DOH Registered Nurse License or eligibility for Abu Dhabi.
• At least two years of nursing experience in an operation theatre setting.
• Knowledge of theatre protocols, surgical instruments, infection prevention, and patient safety standards.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is advantageous.
• IVF, OB-GYN, or gynecological surgical procedure experience is preferred.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills; ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
