Senior Electrical Engineer

Role overview

Construction-stage site management and deliverables

• Review contractor electrical drawings, reports, specifications, and materials during design and construction for completeness, correctness, and compliance with scope and agreements.
• Conduct constructability reviews during design, construction, and modification stages.
• Review contractor and subcontractor submittals promptly and forward comments to the Engineering Manager.
• Ensure contractors incorporate comments raised at previous stages.
• Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures and write design narratives and engineering analyses.
• Attend technical meetings with contractors and subcontractor teams.
• Review contractor and consultant design organizations and related CVs and report findings to the Engineering Manager.
• Coordinate with document control and PMT QA/QC engineering to ensure discipline documents are controlled.
• Review proposed design alternatives and report recommendations with their advantages and disadvantages.
• Review proposed materials and recommend alternatives to improve quality, future maintenance, safety, and cost effectiveness.
• Review change requests and variations, operational issues, procurement status, construction and engineering issues, correspondence, claims, project variations, actions taken, and progress photographs.
• Manage project and team performance and ensure client expectations are met within contract requirements.

Education, training, and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Eligible for GCC engineering membership.
• Knowledge of local laws and regulations and international and regional codes and standards.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• At least 15 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer.
• At least 10 years of experience on a large-sized construction project.
• Commercial management experience and experience managing and coordinating project tasks.
