Senior Electrical Draftsman (5* Hotel Experience)

About This Role

The Senior Electrical Draftsman is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating detailed electrical drawings and documentation for hotel building projects. This role supports the electrical engineering team in designing power, lighting, ELV, and life-safety systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Drafting & Design

• Prepare and develop detailed electrical drawings including power layouts, lighting layouts, single line diagrams (SLD), ELV systems, grounding and lightning protection.
• Produce shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings for hotel facilities.
• Assist in the preparation of load schedules, panel board schedules, cable sizing , and voltage drop calculations as directed by engineers.
• Update drawings based on design changes, consultant comments, and site conditions.

Coordination & Collaboration

• Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and structural teams to avoid clashes and ensure alignment with hotel design requirements.
• Work closely with project engineers, site engineers, and BIM teams for drawing integration and conflict resolution.
• Attend design coordination meetings and incorporate revisions promptly.

Standards, Codes & Compliance

• Ensure drawings comply with local authority regulations , international standards (IEC, NEC, NFPA), and hotel brand-specific guidelines (Marriott, Hilton, Accor, etc. if required).
• Follow established drafting standards, templates, and QA/QC procedures.

Documentation & Technical Support

• Maintain drawing logs, revision histories, and document control in coordination with the project document controller.
• Assist in preparing material take-offs (MTOs) , BOQs , and technical submittals .
• Provide technical support to the construction team during installation and inspection.

Software & Tools

• Proficient in AutoCAD (2D & 3D), with experience in Revit MEP / BIM preferred.
• Knowledge of MS Office, PDF markup tools, and electrical calculation software is an advantage.

Qualifications & Experience

• 3 Year Diploma/Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–10+ years of experience in electrical drafting, preferably in hotel, high-rise, or commercial building projects .
• Strong understanding of electrical systems used in hospitality projects (guest-room control, emergency systems, ELV, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Good communication, teamwork, and time-management skills.
